The Academic
Education
  According to the aims set by the association to raise the academic and educational standard of the handicapped people, and wishing to improve their comprehension and mental abilities, the association found it necessary to develop the academic education at its classrooms by the help of specialized experts.

put forward plans to raise this standard. So, after getting a license from the Ministry of education the board of the association assigned a number of specialized and highly qualified teachers, besides the continuous improvement in their work through involving them in courses to increase their academic experience and paying much attention to what is suitable for the individual, teaching of the handicapped people in the curriculums of the Ministry of Education , The school includes two sectionsThe First Section : It includes curriculums, like : the basic skills in Arabic, social Education, Science, Math and religionThe Second Section : This section includes the non-curriculum subjects, like : basic self-care, basic activities and skills, such as physical games, educational and entertaining games, as well as art, like music and drawing . That is according to an individual short-term plan and a long-term one, according to the evaluation reports about the students .          
In the year 2008, 110 students, male and female, aged from 6 to 14, were registered at the school Later on, male students are transferred to the vocational centers, whereas female students are transferred to the vocational rehabilitation department . These students were classified into seven levels, distributed as follows :

Seven specialized teachers carry out the teaching process for these classes and levels .  Vocational Rehabilitation for Girls Believing that work is sacred and vital to humans and stressing the ultimate goal of the association, which is involving the handicapped people in the social life to become efficient citizens of the community, and to take part in building it, according to their self-abilities, side with the other social sectors, the association represented by its board of directors started some vocational rehabilitation programs, and successfully developed this section to include various and comprehensive divisions that meet the requirements of the developing life, and to reflect the promising future of the association . This section accepts girls with special needs starting from age 14 onwards, to receive vocational training, each according to the type of her handicap and abilities

The training course takes 6 to 12 month . After finishing the course, the graduates are given approved certificates that enable them to get suitable jobs . In addition , the association has been extensively helpful to them, that it contacts official sides to save work for them, in order to have and continue good lives as efficient members of the society . The students were classified into three levels, as shown below :

In 2006, 23 students were enrolled in this section, distributed to the various specified fields that suit them, and specialized trainers follow them upBesides, the association involves the trainers in development courses, inside and outside the association, to provide them with continuous and better training, and to save the best services to the students .This section includes different parts, such as :

 Fashion designing and swing .·        Embroidery .·        Knitting Wool .·  Ceramics   Glass-drawing .·        Library .·        Indoor and outdoor games .· Theatre and music .Vocational Rehabilitation for Men :Candle making department :· As soon as the initial sum of the total expenditure on this project had arrived from UNRWA, the project came to light and the following steps had been carried out :- Making a contract with a trainer for the course- The place has been supplied with the needed equipment to start the work in the project .· Arranging wit Balsam Association for rehabilitation to involve the male students, who are aged 14 onwards, in the vocational training program for those with special needs, and to help each of them get a suitable job (Feb.2006 Seven employees, male and female, had been trained how to make candles . Eight students received training on making various kinds of candles are being produced at this section

Outdoor Program

Home-visit program, which helps to instruct families and also offers aid for the cases that need its especially things that will help them, like Wheel-chairs, medical mattresses, diapers and walking-sticks . This program distributed aid and gifts .

Board of Directors has hired a group of experts and specialists to develop plans and design programs that serve the objectives of the association and its mission, has begun since the first moment of the transition to its permanent headquarters in 1997 in the implementation of plans and objectives:

 
1. Address the special needs of the distortions of mental and behavioral disorders resulting from non-compliance with the disability or tension in the relationship with the family and society, and helping them adapt properly with disabilities and the community in which they live, and to integrate in the life of their community and expand the circle of social relations

 
2. Rehabilitation of people with special needs academically and professionally and help them overcome the effects of disability, and their integration with the community to become active contributing to the construction, and participate in aspects of public life

 
3. Assist people with disabilities to improve their abilities and through the development of functions related to the original disability from which they suffer from dysfunction in which

 
4. Monitor the situation with special needs on the ground in the beach camp, inspired by the Sheikh Radwan and many of the neighborhoods of Gaza, classified according to type of disability and provide the services they need, both morally and materially

 
5. Communication with local and international institutions, charitable and governmental and inform them of the situation of people with special needs and coordinate with them to provide social services, health and material assistance in kind or financial

 
6. How-to seminars and courses for people with special needs to guide them to the proper ways of dealing with their children with disabilities, and to identify the psychological and social needs and provide the proper family atmosphere for the disabled

   
7. Accommodate the largest possible number of people with special needs in the programs of the General with a view to the academic and professional education and vocational training, providing rich environment for the handicapped with psychotropic given equal opportunity in education and rehabilitation so that according to its capabilities and potential to carry out the duties of daily life and rely on themselves to gain strength as an active member in the community

 
8. Holding competitions and sports tournaments that are commensurate with disabilities to integrate with the community and develop their physical, mental and formation and training of teams for different games, and participation in sports competitions, local and global, which specializes in disabled

 
9. Exchange of experiences with similar institutions at the local level and internationally. 10. Upgrading the intellectual and mental as much as possible to absorb and collect the maximum practical level of disability

 
11. Developing the capacity and skills of disabled and integrated with the community in which they live in terms of psychological and behavioral

 
12. Preparing the disabled to live with his health and psychological guidance through moral faith in fate and destiny in accordance with the Almighty, saying: "Say not befall us except what God has for us,"

13. The Board of mothers and fathers of the link between the institution and the home to help resolve all the difficulties facing the foundation in education and improve the behavior of the disabled.
